What? I could have sworne the other night I was by myself. Well, with the exception of the kitty in my lap.
But a couple of days ago, while talking with Dyann Love Barr about where we were two years ago and where we are now, I realized from the first word I ever put on a page I haven't been writing alone.
I've had the benefit of working with and growing with some wonderful writers and without those ladies I probably never would have published a thing. Now I look at those same friends and see women who are successful authors. No one quit. No one let the hard knocks stop them. Now they are agented, expanding into new genres, seeing multi-book contractsand holding their own books in hand.
To top everything off, one woman whose been slugging through the trenches right alongside me and one of my dearest friends informed me she'll now be working alongside me once again--Dyann Love Barr has signed with my agent, Cascade Literary Agency, and I'm thrilled for her!
So here's to all the words we've composed with patient and supportive partners, all the times we've never written alone. Without those cheerleaders (and sometimes needed whip weilders) that have been there with you from the get go, an author's life would be very lonely and depressing.
